Name change? School change? 2015 version

Changing schools for 2015-2016? Changing your name? If either of these pertain to you, there are a variety of computer-related implications, particularly for certified staff members with a staff laptop.
School changes
With our current use of Google Apps for Education and our new Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e computers, staff members who are changing schools no longer need to bring their laptop in to the Tech Center for work related to a school change. Rather, the week of July 6th, we will update the user accounts and computer information of all staff members who are changing schools for the 2015-2016 school year.
At that time, these staff members will begin to have permissions to email groups for their new schools. Additionally, the next login to their staff laptop within a School District 21 school following these changes will see the printers automatically updated from the old school to the new school.
*Student Services staff members who have individually added IDEA printers to their staff laptops, will need to file a Help Request to have these computers manually removed. Then, they will need to add new IDEA printers at their new school manually at the start of the school year.
Name changes
When staff members have a name change, we will need to do work over a two-day period on their computer. We will need their computer in order to:
- Make the appropriate changes in our Active Directory & Google Apps for Education system
- Create these changes on the staff member’s computer, resetting the account name
*Please note that name changes can only be completed by the Information Services team after they have been formally completed with Human Resources.
Staff members should contact the CCSD21 Tech Center & Information Services Office by completing a Help Request online at least 48 hours in advance of the Name/School Change Session you have chosen in order to sign-up. Then, you can drop off your machine on the designated day and time at the Tech Center in the CCSD21 Administration Center (behind the Business Office–Please enter through Door 2A on the east side of the building):
June Name Changes
- June 29th-Drop-off: 7.30-9.30 AM
- July 1st-Pick-up: 11 AM-3.00 PM
July Name Changes
- July 14th-Drop-off: 7.30-9.30 AM
- July 16th-Pick-up: 11 AM-3.00 PM
August Name Changes
- August 4th-Drop-off: 7.30-9.30 AM
- August 6th-Pick-up: 11 AM-3.00 PM
September Name Changes
- September 16th-Drop-off: 7.30-9.30 AM
- September 18th-Pick-up: 11 AM-4.30 PM
