End-of-Trimester Timelines 2015-2016

For 2015-2016, we will continue using the same process that we have been using for a number of years to close out the trimester for grades K-8, verifying grades, and publishing report cards. Please note that Kindergarten teachers are now included in this process for second and third trimester.
There is no longer a paper-based formal verification process. This allows teachers an extra day to complete their grades, and it provides an extra day for school secretaries to complete report card printing. It is critical that teachers and teams take the time to self-verify their own final grades and comments in order for the report card printing process to run smoothly.
As a result of the opening of the Parent Portal during the 2011-2012 school year, middle school students no longer receive specific, separate Mid-Trimester Progress Reports.
Please remember that beginning this year, all students will be receiving Report Cards (each trimester) and Power Standards Summary Reports (End-of-year). This will make the printing of report cards a more involved process for our school secretaries than it has ever been.
Teachers that are responsible for the ESL grades for Tier A, B, and C students do need to enter marks in the Power Standards section of the ESL Gradebook for the Domains of Language each trimester.
Mid-Trimester 1
- October 13 – Mid-Trimester Date
- October 16 – Mid-Trimester Progress Reports Go Home (No Mid-Tri Progress Reports in Grades 6-8)
Trimester 1 (Grades 1 – 8)
- November 20 – End of Trimester 1
- December 1-9 AM – Grades Due–Academic Grades, Learner Quality Grades/Marks, Comments Due & Self-Verified in PowerTeacher Gradebook
- December 1- December 3 – Report Card Printing–School offices will print & distribute trimester report cards.
- December 4 – Report Cards go home with students (Grades 1-8) at the end of the school day.

- January 19 – Mid-Trimester Date
- January 22 – Mid-Trimester Progress Reports Go Home (No Mid-Tri Progress Reports in Grades 6-8)
Trimester 2 (Grades K – 8)
- March 4 – End of Trimester 2
- March 8-9 AM – Grades Due–Academic Grades, Learner Quality Grades/Marks, Comments Due & Self-Verified in PowerTeacher Gradebook
- March 8 – March 10 – Report Card Printing–School offices will print & distribute trimester report cards.
- March 11 – Report Cards go home with students (Grades K-8) at the end of the school day.

Trimester 3
Timeline will be published when the final day of school is determined in the Spring (typically after the April Board of Education Meeting).
Please remember that due to the impact of attendance, we would ask that all staff members please remember to LOG OUT when you are done using PowerTeacher, particularly after taking attendance.
