End-of-trimester timelines 2016-2017

For 2016-2017, we will continue using the same process that we have been using for a number of years to close out the trimester for grades K-8, verifying grades, and publishing report cards. Please note that Kindergarten teachers are now included in this process for second and third trimester.

There is no longer a paper-based formal verification process. This allows teachers an extra day to complete their grades, and it provides an extra day for school secretaries to complete report card printing. It is critical that teachers and teams take the time to self-verify their own final grades and comments in order for the report card printing process to run smoothly.

For reminders and directions on all topics related to PowerTeacher, visit The Modern Pen homepage. Some common questions are addressed in these specific posts:

In order for PowerTeacher to run as efficiently as possible, please remember to LOG OUT after taking attendance.

Middle school students do not receive specific, separate Mid-Trimester Progress Reports as families can access information through Parent Portal.

Please remember, all students will be receiving Report Cards (each trimester, Kindergarten-2nd and 3rd trimester) and Power Standards Summary Reports (End-of-year, all except Kindergarten). This makes the printing of report cards a more involved process for our school secretaries.

Teachers that are responsible for the ESL grades for Tier A, B, and C students will enter marks in the Power Standards section of the ESL Gradebook for the Domains of Language each trimester.
